Swiss trade delegation en route to Iran

TEHRAN, Dec. 16 (MNA) – Swiss SECO official has announced the upcoming trip of a Swiss delegation to Iran.

In a meeting with Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) Valiollah Afkhami Rad, Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Division and Delegate of the Federal Council for Trade Agreements of State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) Livia Leu stressed the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries discussing the plans to deploy a top-ranked state and trade Swiss delegation to Tehran in February, 2016.

SECO is Swiss Federal Government’s center for all core issues relating to the country’s economic and labor market policies.

Also at the meeting, Afkhami Rad, President of Iran TPO, emphasized the important position of Switzerland in the business programs of Iran expressing Iran’s readiness to do the necessary planning for the Swiss trade delegation’s visit to have positive and constructive outcomes for both sides.

Referring to the agreement between Iran and the 5+1 group of countries, Afkhami Rad reiterated “we hope that the imposed sanctions against Iran will be removed before the visit of the Swiss delegation so that the negotiations will immediately lead to operating results.”

The Iranian official further stressed the good relations between the two countries; “we won’t forget the fruitful cooperation of Switzerland with Iran in recent years,” underlined Afkhami Rad calling for expansion of ties and the removal of trade barriers between the two sides.
